- Born in Seattle, Washington. His father flew 64 combat missions over Nazi Germany as first pilot of a B-24 crew and served a 30-year career in the USAF. Gordon attended Rincon High School,Tucson, Arizona while his father flew B-47s at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. Graduating from Rincon, Gordon moved to Seattle to study art education (University of Washington). Graduating in 1964 he was commissioned in the USAF. He volunteered for Spec Ops as a Combat Control Officer. Between 1964-1978, he served in Vietnam, Europe, and the US. Graduating from the Army Basic Parachutist's Course, Navy Underwater Swimmer's Course, and High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) Parachutist's Course. He was a qualified HALO Jumpmaster. Entering Southern California College of Optometry in 1978. In 1992, he returned to the USAF as Chief of Optometry at Howard Air Force Base, Republic of Panama. In Panama he commenced building a painting portfolio. He is presently retired and living in Arizona, where he is developing as an artist-painter.
